Our union has taken a clear stand in support of the Palestinian people against the genocide being carried out against them by the murderous state of Israel, with the support of the US, the EU, NATO, and their monopolies.
On the same day that our union took action in response to the call of WFTU, the company responded with a statement that, among other things, talks about the inclusion of all colleagues, the values of the company, and that it does not take a political stance. In essence, it suggested that neither the union nor our colleagues take any political position on the greatest crime of the 21st century, the genocide in Gaza.
The company’s statement is nothing but hypocritical, considering that it took a clear position on the war in Ukraine when the monopolies, governments, and NATO were subjugating it.
It seems that Teleperformance’s “human-centric environment” is not concerned with children starving in Gaza when this goes against the “strategic alliance with Israel”, the parties that support it, NATO, and the US-EU policy that supports and votes for war preparation budgets and have “blood on their hands.”
The inclusion mentioned by the company means indiscriminate dismissals of single parents, pregnant women, and people with health problems. It means anti-union practices with the dismissal of union members, non-compliance with the call of the Labor Inspectorate, which has decided to provide channels of communication between the union and all employees who are teleworking, thereby obstructing the union’s action.
At this time, no one can remain silent; everyone must choose a side.
History has a right side, with Palestine as Freedom!
We are strengthening the ranks of our Union, fighting for the signing of a Collective Labor Agreement with substantial increases and rights for all, and working hours based on our modern needs.
We are fighting against the medieval working conditions that the government wants to legislate, with 13-hour working days and working time arranged within the week with days off. We will not become slaves of the 21st century.
We call for:
• Participation in the meeting called by the Piraeus Labor Center on 10/09
• The General Assembly of our union on Sunday, September 21, at 4:00 p.m. at the Piraeus Labor Center, to coordinate our action and decide on the next steps.
• Participate in the 4-hour work stoppage on Friday, September 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the day of the first trial concerning our colleagues.
• Hands off the members of the Union Board who exercise their constitutional right to inform all colleagues. Immediate provision of communication channels with all colleagues, as required by the Labor Inspectorate.
• Signing of a Collective Agreement with increases and rights for all, based on the draft we have submitted to the company.
