Everyone at demonstrations across the country against the blood-stained budget – In Athens, 18:30, at Syntagma Square.
The Teleperformance Workers’ Union calls on workers to participate en masse in the work stoppage declared by the Piraeus Labor Center and the Federation of Private Employees of Greece, as well as in the rallies in all cities. We are joining forces with the struggling farmers against the budget of poverty, tax theft, and war.
The determination of the farmers, together with the workers, students, and pupils who embraced their struggle, broke the terrorism and arrogance of the New Democracy government and the orgy of repression it tried to unleash.
We stand with them! Their struggle is just and directly concerns workers in commerce and services, the working class as a whole, and the popular strata, who are crushed by high prices, tax theft, and starvation wages.
Farmers are being squeezed dry in the fields, workers are being robbed of their wages and on the shelves, while the monopolies of the food industry and supermarkets are amassing fortunes.
Workers and farmers have a common enemy: the government, the parties of capital, business groups, the EU, and NATO.
The policy that is destroying farmers is the same one that is causing inflation, 13-hour workdays, the dismantling of collective bargaining agreements and working hours, workplace crimes by employers, and starvation wages and war budgets that do not meet the needs of the people. From flood protection to exorbitant oil and electricity prices, from inflation in basic foodstuffs to policies that sacrifice the needs of the many for the profits of the few, everything reveals the impasse of the EU-government strategy. 73.5 billion euros in direct and indirect taxes, up from 70 billion in 2025. 95% of taxes – mainly indirect – will once again be borne by the working class, farmers, and the self-employed.
The new budget intensifies the anti-popular attack and further adjustment to the dictates of war preparation, heralding new sacrifices in the name of capitalist profitability, imperialist competition, and US-NATO-EU wars. NATO plans, equipment, and weapons sent from the Pacific to Ukraine account for 5% of GDP, while health, education, and welfare are considered costs, becoming expensive commodities and “investment opportunities” for the profits of the few.
Workers and farmers, one voice and one fist!
Their struggle is the same as ours for better working conditions, for the signing of collective agreements with substantial increases and rights, for the improvement and institutionalization of health and safety conditions that cover the colleagues working from home as well that have no coverage whatsoever.
His struggle is the same as ours for better working conditions, for the signing of collective agreements with substantial increases and rights, improving and establishing health and safety conditions that cover all our colleagues, especially those who work from home.
At the last meeting with the Union’s Board of Directors, Teleperformance’s management once again failed to commit to signing a collective agreement based on our Union’s proposals, as well as our proposal to convert all contracts over 3 years into permanent contracts at Teleperformance.
They merely said that they would consider it. However, they did commit to providing specific information on pay rises, contracts, and the absorption of all colleagues from departments that are closing, such as Zipcar.
We are not resting on our laurels, and we are not stopping. We are mobilizing the union’s ranks, and we are continuing!
We call on all workers to participate in the nationwide work stoppage on Tuesday, December 16, from 17:00 to 19:00, the day of the vote on the anti-popular budget of poverty, taxes, and war, and to participate en masse in the rallies in all cities, in Athens at 18:30 at Syntagma Square.
