The Teleperformance Employees’ Union calls on all colleagues to gather in support of the farmers’ struggle for the immediate satisfaction of their just demands, on Monday, December 8, at 18.30 in Athens at the Ministry of Rural Development and Food in Vathis Square and in Thessaloniki at the Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace.

The farmers’ struggle is our struggle. Against the anti-popular policies of the New Democracy government and all previous governments, which promoted the EU’s CAP, faithfully serving the profits of monopolies and big capital at the expense of our rights. It is linked to our struggle because it concerns getting cheap, high-quality products from the field to the shelf. It concerns the unbearable cost of production that inflates the profits of business groups and “brings to their knees” households with high prices, as well as the farmers themselves. It concerns us all because it is a struggle for survival.

We denounce the stance of the New Democracy government, which, instead of meeting the just demands of farmers, responds with chemicals, beatings, arrests, repression, and mock trials.

Farmers and workers will not back down!
The farmers’ struggle is just! It is a struggle for all of us!

We express even more strongly our support and solidarity with the farmers’ protests and the roadblocks set up across the country from one end to the other. The turn the people against the farmers with disruption of transportation as a pretext has already failed.

The minister says there is no money for farmers, while at the same time billions are being squandered on the new budget for their war preparations, for NATO, the US, and the EU in their monopolies’ competition for economic supremacy and control of the transport routes for goods and energy between the US, China, and their allies.

The same policy that tramples on our rights and makes our lives miserable is the one that brings farmers face to face with disaster. It is the same policy that legislates 13-hour working days for the profits of monopolies, makes despicable agreements between the government and the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and the Greek General Confederation of Labor (GSEE) to dismantle collective labor agreements, the policy that views our safety as a cost, resulting in inadequate safety and health measures in the workplace, with deaths and injuries. Further deterioration of health and education, non-existent flood prevention projects, high rents, electricity, and heating costs

Our strength lies in the common struggle of workers, farmers, and the self-employed to meet our contemporary needs in the face of policies that sacrifice our lives for the profits of capital.

Monday December 8, at 18.30 in Athens at the Ministry of Rural Development and Food in Vathis Square and in Thessaloniki at the Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace.

Workers and farmers, one voice and one fist!
We stand with them, the farmers will win!

The farmers’ struggle in Greence is just! It is a struggle for all of us!
