On Thursday 13/02/2025, the Labour Inspectorate issued a critical decision, referring the case of trade union prosecutions under Law 1264/82 to the Public Prosecutor for further investigation of potential criminal liability.
Additionally, the Inspectorate set a deadline of 17/03 for the company to establish a communication channel with 75% of colleagues working from home. We have already proposed alternatives to the company, such as the use of the BMS, addressing concerns beyond the ‘issue of personal data’ and the ‘technically unfeasible’ claims made by the company.
Our union has made it clear that we will use every means at our disposal to fight back which includes this appeal to the Labour Inspectorate against the company’s persecution of our elected colleagues, members of our Central Board of Directors, and almost all elected colleagues in Chania, as well as the president of the Thessaloniki branch and other Union members who were laid off.
We will not cease our efforts until all laid-off colleagues are reinstated, all new hiring is halted immediately, and every dismissed colleague is rehired.
Our actions have put pressure on the company, forcing them to make some concessions. Small raises were provided to certain departments more involved in the strikes, desks and chairs were given to some colleagues who are working from home, and free transportation was arranged for our colleagues in Chania. However, these concessions are far from meeting our demands.
The company is fully aware that we will not relent in our fight against the oppressive regime of the Payroll Companies. These companies keep thousands of our colleagues in a state of insecurity, forcing them to endure fixed-term contracts for years and dismissing them at the slightest drop in performance. We demand an end to this injustice and call for the transfer of all colleagues to their rightful employer, Teleperformance.
We stand against all anti-worker laws by past and present governments that stretch our lives thin.
Our struggle and the actions of our Union, combined with the mass participation of our colleagues, have shattered the isolation of working from home, united our fight, and extended it beyond our borders.
Our militant response to the strike on 28 February will be a testament to our resolve. We will become the voice of the 57 individuals who perished in Tempe, demanding justice and insisting that there be no cover-up of the crime because this crime has a history.
We fight for better working conditions, to stop returning home by chance, and to end the existence of a vast ‘valley of Tempe.’
We call:
· All to join the General Strike on 28/2, at Syntagma at 11.00.
· All to join the rally on Wednesday 19 February, at 18.00 outside the offices of the company “DoValue” in Tavros (Cyprus 27, stop “Kallithea”) against the auction of workers’ houses, to proceed to a favorable regulation of the debts of the working – people’s families based on their financial possibilities and without further delays, to suspend the auctions announced for these families in the coming period.
