We stand together, no one signs unpaid leave
Colleagues,
Our union stands in solidarity with the colleagues in a newly established department at Apple. The company is trying to coerce our colleagues into signing unpaid leaves. Even without having clearly specified the training subject upon which their proficiency would be assessed in the new project. It remained unclear whether they would be tested before they go into production.
We salute the fighting spirit of our colleagues, who had to quit jobs and reject other job offers coming to this company to work in order to support their families and pay their bills, while the company’s recent communication, informing them that they are no longer needed and should remain unpaid for the next month and a half, came with vague and unclear terms.
Our colleagues stand united, demanding a collective solution.
In this battle against the company’s arbitrariness, we stand shoulder to shoulder. No one should sign anything. We insist that the company fully compensate colleagues for the remaining duration of their contracts and promptly find suitable positions within the company. We refuse to be treated as expendable tools.
After all, we are the ones answering emails, chats, calls, and even training their “artificial intelligence.” The company profits significantly from our work, and we won’t allow ourselves to be tossed aside without consideration.
We have already managed to break the isolation faced by remote workers (WAHA) with our collective struggle. Our duty is to thicken our lines more and more. We persistently pursue our demands:
Paying our colleagues for the remaining balance of their contracts, ensuring no detrimental changes to their working conditions.
The implementation of permanent contracts with rights, following the union’s proposal for CLA.
A standard workweek of 5 days, 7 hours per day (totalling 35 hours).
A 20% increase in salaries for all colleagues, regardless of the subject or language they support.
