In the project where employees handle AI training and content moderation for “a major technology company”, Teleperformance is once again showing its true face.
Around mid to late 2024, hundreds of workers were removed from projects they had been working on for years. The premise presented was that those long-standing projects were “downsizing,” but Teleperformance promised to do anything they could to secure employees. Everyone was assured job security, but results immediately contradicted these promises.
Colleagues who had been with the company for over five years were now presented with monthly and trimonthly contracts. Back in October, the company announced it would dismiss hundreds of people from the same projects. This unacceptable practice had so far been averted thanks to our struggle!
However, once again, the company announced impending “downsizing” to all those colleagues who had already lost any sense of job security by being moved to a project with an unknown duration. Hundreds of our colleagues now have to worry about uncertain conditions, as their likely dismissal was announced around a week before the date, being informed on January 27th about February 7th…We denounce the unacceptable practice of Teleperformance once again putting business needs above our lives.
We call on Teleperformance to respect our rights and dignity! The practice of renting workers on demand in a vicious circle of dismissing and hiring aiming to maximise the profits while treating people as numbers and cost is truly unacceptable.
No one can live under this uncertainty!We stand united in the fight for permanent contracts, a collective agreement, and salary raises for all!We urge everyone in such a position to reach out to our union to pursue getting a permanent contract and salary increases.
