Everyone to the rally on Friday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m., at Syntagma Square

— A march to the U.S. Embassy will follow. —

There is no end in sight to the raging fires following the U.S.-Israel imperialist intervention in Iran and the multiple open fronts. Amid the flames of the war in Ukraine and the Middle East, the genocide of the Palestinian people, the intervention in Venezuela, and the threats against Cuba, it becomes clearer that they are dragging the peoples into the quagmire of rivalries between the US and China, their allies, and their camps.

Greece has actively entered into imperialist rivalries and war plans, turning our people into a potential target for retaliation, for interests that have nothing to do with our own and our needs. We workers have nothing to gain from their wars, only new burdens, dangers, and intensified exploitation.

Our wages, which previously didn’t even cover a third of the month, now—with the new price hikes—don’t even cover the bare necessities; every day we work longer hours under worse conditions. Energy, fuel, electricity, and the resulting cost of basic food —dairy, meat, and fruit—will continue to rise.

They want us to work from dawn till dusk, without health and safety measures, without rights, without collective labour agreements—keeping our mouths shut and our heads bowed. There is no money for us and our needs, yet the money for their military equipment—the frigates they send to the Red Sea, the Patriot missiles protecting Saudi Arabia’s refineries—comes from our labor.

We won’t pay for their crisis; we won’t become cannon fodder for them!

A policy that drags the country into dangerous developments and makes us all targets of retaliation is not in our best interest! We have no reason to sacrifice ourselves for them and their profits! Profits they make off our unpaid labor, off the slashing of social benefits, healthcare, education, and every aspect of our daily lives. The government is an accomplice; it supports and covers for those responsible. Those who hope to profit from the war, on the backs of the innocent and literally stepping over corpses.

NO PARTICIPATION, NO INVOLVEMENT – KEEP GREECE OUT OF THE WAR

Sound the alarm everywhere! This battle is our responsibility, through organization and collective action within the ranks of our Union. With determination and mass mobilization! Let us send a message to the New Democracy government that it has no legitimacy to support the slaughter of other peoples and drag us into slaughter as well.

We demand:

• No Greek involvement in wars and imperialist schemes

• The return of all Greek military forces stationed abroad

• The closure of foreign military bases in the country

• Money for wages, healthcare, and education—not for military equipment and wars

• Protection of workers’ lives and rightsEveryone to the rally on Friday, March 27 at 6:30 p.m., at Syntagma Square.
