Formation of the new board of SETEP
Dear colleagues, Yesterday marked another historic moment for our Union. The first Board of our Union has been established! This decisive step follows the path that began a few months ago, pulling us out of the isolation of working from home. It has made it abundantly clear that through collective struggle and action, no one will stand alone against the employer anymore. But this is just the beginning!
We have fought, and we will continue to fight together, with the goal of standing by all our colleagues. We stand against the intensification, unfair treatment, and terror imposed by the management. We salute the hundreds of new colleagues who joined the Union and participated in the elections, strengthening both the organization and ourselves. The new Board takes on the responsibility of working even more methodically and determinedly to reach out to colleagues across every department and corner of the country.
It is with great pleasure and honor that we announce the constitution of the Union’s Board on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The board resulted from elections held throughout Greece between June 25 and July 3, 2024. The election was unanimous, and the results are as follows:
President: Nikos Spyrelis
Vice President: Ghassen Ben Jannet
Secretary General: Ferhat Toum
Deputy Secretary: Alexandra Lymperi
Treasurer: Dalel Zarrouk
The other members of the Board as follows:
May Ben Aziza
Najla Ben Slama
Yannis Boukas
Marilena Tsopanidi
Over the past months, our militancy, heroism, and determination have inspired thousands of colleagues in Greece and abroad. We are proud, and we recognize that this initial struggle is just the beginning, a crucial and significant first step!
No one stands alone! Our demands are fair, and we will persist in our struggle!
We demand:
An immediate meeting with the employer to sign a Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) based on our Union’s comprehensive proposal, ensuring among other things:
• Permanent contracts for all.
• A 20% salary increase for all colleagues, regardless of the language they support.
• A 60-minute break for everyone.
• A 5-day, 7-hour workweek (35 hours).
• Coverage of Work-At-Home (WAHA) expenses for all colleagues.
• Provision of necessary equipment, including ergonomic chairs and desks, for all.
