We Continue Our Struggle – Building on the Historic Strike!
The previous strike marked a historic moment, standing as the most massive workers’ mobilization to date. Hundreds of young colleagues joined the struggle for the first time, raising their voices against policies that treat our lives as nothing more than a cost.
We refuse to accept the relentless exploitation that suffocates us until the last second of our working day. We reject the policies that force the vast majority of us to work from home without basic health and safety protections. We stand against a system that prioritizes profit over human dignity.
On the day of the strike, our voices merged with those of workers across industries—call center employees at Concentrix, TTEC, and Foundever, port workers, factory laborers, construction crews, shipping companies, hospital staff, teachers, and municipal workers. Millions walked out. Shifts were left empty, production ground to a halt. Alongside workers, thousands of self-employed people closed their shops in solidarity, and students of all ages joined the movement.
Preparing for the Next Wave of Resistance – April 9:
We are organizing relentlessly in every workplace, ensuring that the strike on **April 9** will be even stronger and more decisive. We draw from our experience, determined to flood the streets of Piraeus and all of Greece with striking workers, united against a barbaric system that fills our lives with tragedies like Tempe. Our struggle is not just against the current New Democracy government but against all previous governments and the EU policies that led to this crisis. We fight for real change—for breathable lives, for justice, for a future where workers are not sacrificed for the greed of the few.
The Government’s Betrayal of the People: The same state that hands over 7 billion euros for NATO armaments slashes social spending, leaving workers in misery. The same state that transforms Greece into a NATO base, making our people targets in geopolitical conflicts. They pour 800 billion euros into war, while workers’ wages disappear by the 10th of the month. The government’s so-called minimum wage “increase” is a cruel deception—wiped out by inflation and absorbed by exploitative “company bonuses” before it even reaches our pockets.
Employer Repression Will Not Break Us
Teleperformance, now rebranding as “TP”, responds to our union’s just demands with mass layoffs. Over 500 workers fired in just two months, a clear attack on union organizing. But we will not retreat. We demand the immediate reinstatement of all dismissed colleagues and an end to employer impunity.
Victories That Light the Way Forward We draw strength from recent workers’ victories:
Construction workers won a 5-day, 7-hour workweek and a 30% wage increase. Workers at DELTA and E-FOOD secured major pay raises, abolished unpaid overtime, and restored job security through collective bargaining. These struggles prove that resistance brings results. They show us the path forward—a mass movement that overturns anti-worker laws in practice.
