In the most historic mobilization of recent years in Athens and throughout the country, Teleperformance workers united our voice and gave a loud message by organizing the most massive strike we have ever experienced!

We fought against the company’s attempt to hide the huge participation by giving holidays and days off to a number of colleagues, but also against the strike-breaking mechanism on the day of the strike that put a mini bus to bring colleagues to the buildings to work, but let them walk home, some even for two hours!

We joined our voice with our colleagues from the other big call centres, Concentrix, Foundever, and TTEC, our colleagues from construction, the port, the miners who have blacked out every workplace, along with the shops and supermarkets, health and education, students, pupils and pensioners. We said enough is enough, we will not step back until every attempt at a cover-up is stopped, until justice is done. No matter how high the culprits of this predestined crime are, until this policy that treats our lives as a cost, that forces us to live and work in a vast valley of Tempe is stopped.

We united our voices and shouted that we will not allow them to crush our daily lives for their profits. We will no longer allow our wages to not even reach the 10th of the month, we will not allow us to not be able to take a breath during our shift, to be taken away the dignity of being able to meet our basic needs while working, to through us from one payroll company to another, robbing us of our holidays, forcing us to live in insecurity, without any kind of programming.

Against the policy that, in the face of maximising their profit, throws us out on the street, as the company has already done with 400 colleagues or more since the beginning of the year and continues to do the same with hundreds of others. Shamelessly and completely illegally since at the same time that is firing colleagues who have open-ended contracts, it is hiring new ones on other projects.

What for them means competitiveness and profitability means for us a life of constant changes, intensification, evaluation based on hundreds of performance parameters that can be used at will to crush our lives and rights. Our answer to this dilemma, and the answer of hundreds of thousands of our colleagues, is the same: our lives are worth more than their profits!

We want reliable and free health care for all, quality and free education for all children, safe transportation for all, and we can have it today!

Instead, the government and all the previous ones give big multinationals like Teleperformance motives to increase their profits, give them flexibility with anti-labour laws to treat us like numbers and at the same time tax their profits with only 5% dividends. Giving them motives to have the company’s headquarters in Greece and to have profits from all the Balkans, Turkey, India, Egypt and elsewhere reach their pockets, while at the same time telling us that they cannot afford to give raises and open-ended contracts.

We all unite our voices again and give the next big militant meeting in the new general national strike on 9 April.

On 28 February we were too many, on 9 April we will be even more! Each of us now reaches out to all our colleagues, organize our struggle, participate in the General Assembly of our union on 29/03 at 17.00 at the Labour Centre of Piraeus to organize our strike successfully and collectively decide the next steps of our action.

• We demand that all recruitment be stopped immediately, until all our colleagues are absorbed in other departments.
  
• We demand the immediate signing of collective agreements with substantial wage increases, permanent contracts for everyone at Teleperformance, with rights and achievements for all colleagues, regardless of language and subject.
