Αnnouncement for the use of the company’s applications on our mobile phones
Dear colleagues,
Recently the management has been unlawfully attempting, to force our colleagues to install
apps that are intended to be use for company purposes, to our own personal phones! They go so
far as to demand that even the employees’ smartphones, should not be rooted, and treated as if they
were company equipment! This policy applies to both those working from home, and those working
from the premises. Consequently colleagues working from the premises need to arrive even earlier to
complete what is necessary. Additionaly those working from home, are also required to use their own
phones, as well as their house, electricity and internet connection for professional purposes.
This shameful request, proves that the company knows no limits to their demands from
us, they violate our own personal space, by enforcing the “clean desk policy” inside our homes. By
transferring the cost of work to each and everyone of us, by paying less than 20 euros, for at least
22 days of work each month. During which we need to use air-conditioning during the heatwaves in
the summer, or during the winter cold, resulting in us paying almost half our salary. Meanwhile, they
are charging our colleagues in Chania, 300 euros and more per month for less than 20 square
meter rooms!!
Despite making millions from our work everyday, the company refuses to give us even an
ergonomic chair, a desk, or even a foot stool. Leading in hundreds of us suffering from a variety of
work related illnesses. As most of us, can not spare enough money make such an investment in proper
equipment.
They expect us to visit the premises everyday, be on time, and monitor every second of our
working day, requesting us to even get permission to use the restroom. At the same time, that we do
not have the time or the money to get and eat a proper meal. They refuse to cover the cost of a
monthly public transportation card, or cover us at least the expenses for a simple lunch and a cup of
coffee everyday.
If the company insists on enforcing that kind of policy, they should be the ones that will
provide us the necessary smartphones to do so! Otherwise, a hardware token can and should be used
instead. This has already been the official answer of the management to colleagues who have
expressed their objection to install the App on their phones.
We demand the following:
- 20% Raises to all our colleagues regardless of their department and the language that they support
- The necessary equipment to work from home ( a desk, a chair, company router, and cover a substantial part of our electricity bill, instead of the shameful 20 euros they pay now)
- A free transportation card for each of us that is working in the premises
- In case they deem it necessary for business policy, they need to immediately provide a smartphone to all our colleagues. Stop all intimidation immediately, this is not and can not be mandatory!
