September 18th marks 13 years since the murder of the anti-fascist musician and metalworker Pavlos Fyssas in Keratsini by the assault squad of the Nazi criminal organization Golden Dawn.
Pavlos’s murder, just a few days after the organized murderous attack by Golden Dawn members on PAME union members in Perama, highlighted once again the role of fascist organizations against the labor and popular movements.
Fascism is not “just another opinion.” It is the very flesh and blood of their rotten system, an enemy of workers, of organized struggle, and of our rights.
Thirteen years later, we have not forgotten Pavlos Fyssas. We have not forgotten the activists who were targeted by the fascists. We have not forgotten the attacks on unionized workers and immigrants.
Today, in our workplaces, our response remains the same: organization, solidarity, class struggle.
In the face of those who want to divide workers, in the face of racism and xenophobia, and in the face of every attempt to undermine our collective action, we are strengthening our unions.
At Teleperformance, workers from dozens of countries and speaking different languages work together.
We know full well that our interests are shared. We will not let anyone divide us.
We will not let fear, racism, and fascism poison our workplaces and neighborhoods.
Our strength lies in our unity.
Our strength lies in the union.
Our strength lies in the organized struggle of the workers.
