October 30: We Join the International Day of Action by Port Workers Across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas! Ports are not war bases – We, the workers, do not work for war! We are joining the All-Piraeus Strike!
The Teleperformance Workers’ Union (SETEP) is participating in and supporting the All-Piraeus Strike and the International Day of Action by dockworkers and workers at more than 100 ports across four continents. The action will take place on Friday, October 30, 2026, involving workers from India, Greece, France, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Cyprus, Montenegro, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, Morocco, the United States and Mexico.
We join our voices with workers in ports around the world, railway workers, seafarers and dozens of other sectors to send a powerful message: We do not work for war! Ports and infrastructure belong to the people, not to military plans!
We, the workers at Teleperformance, came from dozens of different countries to work with dignity and build better lives. We have realised that our interests have nothing to do with the conflicts between companies, wars or imperialist agendas.
While workers are struggling under rising prices, intensification of work, low wages and insecurity, billions of euros are being directed towards military equipment and war operations.
Dockworkers — the workers who keep ports running — have nothing to gain from ports becoming links in the chain of military involvement, in infrastructure being turned into launching pads for military operations, or in their labour being used to transport weapons and military equipment to conflict zones.
Likewise, we have nothing to gain from being dragged into their wars and becoming cannon fodder. On the contrary, we pay the price of wars through rising living costs, forced immigration, insecurity and the intensification of exploitation.
Workers around the world share common problems, common needs and a common interest in fighting for a life with rights, dignity and peace. We demand humane working hours, stable work, substantial wage increases, and health and safety measures.
We stand alongside dockworkers and all workers fighting against the involvement of the country’s ports and infrastructure in military plans. We express our solidarity with workers in every country, regardless of nationality, language or religion. No worker stands alone when they organise their struggle and stand alongside their colleagues, wherever they may be.
We strengthen our common struggle for:
– Ports, airports and the country’s infrastructure not to be used to support military operations.
– An end to the country’s involvement in military plans and rivalries.
– Funding to be allocated to wages, healthcare, education and the real needs of workers and the people — not to military equipment and wars.
- ● We call on all our colleagues to support the International Day of Action and all colleagues in Piraeus to participate in the All-Piraeus Strike on October 30 and join the mobilization at 10:00 a.m. at Municipal Theatre Square in Piraeus. All projects based in Piraeus are covered by the strike, regardless of whether colleagues work from company buildings or from home.
- ● We also call on colleagues at the Moschato buildings to gather for a show of solidarity and collective action on the same day at 13:30 in front of Building K4.
On Friday, October 30, we join our voices with port workers and workers from other sectors around the world!
Long live international solidarity and the common struggle of workers in every country!
