Joint announcement of SETEP and the Private Sector Workers Union of Chania

Dear colleagues,

Yesterday was a very important day for all of us Teleperformance employees. And a proof that since the day our union was formed, none of us will feel alone anymore. All these years the company used to intimidate us, try to silence us and of course first and foremost try to keep us away from our Trade Unions, or from any notion of collective action.

As a result of the company’s attempts to stop colleagues from trying to have union action. Whether through company channels, or through announcements on company premises. The attempts at intimidation were responded to with a complaint to the labour inspectorate. The company representative denied everything, fully aware that all this is illegal. The evidence provided was indisputable. And the result once again backfired on the management.

It was made clear to the company that it cannot obstruct trade union activity. But they were also asked to provide a way for the union to communicate with all our colleagues, working from home or not. They are also obliged to provide space within the buildings for our Colleagues to read the Union’s announcements!

Let it be made clear to anyone who has not understood this by now. The more we are the stronger we become, join the ranks of our Union to further strengthen our membership. We have already come a long way. Let all our colleagues know about the Union everywhere, we wear our insignia and red armband inside the premises! Together we will achieve our demands!
