At the 1st General Assembly of SETEP held on April 7, at the Piraeus Labour Centre, our colleagues, more experienced and stronger now through our own union, collectively discussed the latest developments and our next steps.
It became clear that we do not accept the constant chasing of targets, the unpaid overtime, the arbitrariness of downsizing that leaves us without a salary until the next project.
We do not accept our colleagues working under the special purpose visa regime.
We do not accept our colleagues working under the special purpose visa regime. After the last meeting
we had with the officials in the ministry, a commitment was achieved that the residence status of the
colleagues in the country will not change and they will not be included in the recall status. We are not
complacent. We continue the struggle against the government’s anti-immigration policy.
We don’t accept the salary ending before the end of the month, paying expensive electricity and fuel, expensive rent to stay .. while Teleperformance is counting always higher profits.
The micro-increases here and there in various departments, the result of pressure from our struggles, trying to put on a “friendly” face or to divide the workers, not only fail to silence us, but make us even angrier.
In its last meeting with the union’s Administrative Board, the management refused to initiate direct negotiations on our fair demands for a collective agreement. The management claims that they are still “looking into it…”.
But Teleperformance workers have proven that we don’t accept being fooled anymore! In fact we have shown them our strength with our great struggle in the past months!
To all this we respond with a strike on 17 April, the day of a nationwide general strike! We join our voice and our struggle with hundreds of unions all over Greece who are demanding wage increases and Collective Labour Agreements and we put pressure on the company to stop the mockery and meet our demands.
We increase the pressure on the Teleperformance management for our demands by striking on May 1st! On that day, the day of workers all over the world, we are demonstrating with our demands side by side with workers from all over the world – wherever we come from, we become one!
To the pressure and intimidation attempts by Teleperformance, we respond with a stronger Teleperformance Workers Union! We are all helping to bring in hundreds of new members in the coming days! We support the union’s actions!
We demand:
- Collective Agreement with
- 5 day-7 hour day-35 hours week
- One hour break based on the prescribed regulation for working with monitors, excluding toilet breaks.
- 20% Increase in monthly salary for all workers immediately. 10% Seniority-based raise every year
- Automatic adjustment of wages based on the growth rate in consumer staples
- Unhealthy allowance for headsets-work 15%
- Foreign language allowance 10% for each language with recognition of the diplomas of all languages held by the employee, including the mother tongue, if different from Greek
- Full payment of work-from-home expenses (internet, electricity, heating or cooling and office equipment, including but not limited to computer, desk, anatomical chair, footstool, headset). Disconnection from all systems at the end of working hours
- Protection of young mothers and people with health issues
- Abolition of “clean desk policy” that violates fundamental human rights, causing health and hygiene issues (e.g. taking medicines and female hygiene products next to your place of work)
- Permanent contracts for all employees
- Timely notice before any movement from one project to another. Not a day unpaid.
Based on the decision of the first General Assembly of the union we call on all colleagues to participate in the struggle with the following action plan:
- Participation in the nationwide general strike on 17/4, 10.30 at Syntagma Square
- For the better preparation of the strike:
- Mass tours of the union on (10/4 and 11/4) in all buildings
- Meetings of the union with departments (the detailed program will be announced on the union’s website)
- New strike on 1st May to increase the pressure on Teleperformance. Thus we will honor the World Working Class Day!
Together we strengthen our fight!
