Stop the persecution of the mobilization against the transport of war material for the massacre in Gaza. From the start, workers in Piraeus and throughout Greece raised their voices and stood up against the genocide taking place in Gaza.
A year after the shocking mobilization of the Piraeus dockworkers, who stepped forward and stopped the loading of containers with military equipment and millions of bullets for the murderous state of Israel, the mechanisms of the bourgeois state are being mobilized to punish solidarity and send a message of submission.
The Teleperformance Workers’ Union condemns this new despicable attempt to terrorize the labor movement. Their “justice” is fully in line with the goals of the war economy and war budgets, which translates into even greater repression, restrictions on democratic freedoms, and the criminalization of trade union action and any voice that resists imperialist wars and Greece’s involvement in them.
This prosecution comes immediately after the return of the president of the ENEDEP union from a solidarity mission to the West Bank, where he conveyed the message of the workers of Piraeus and the unions of Greece to the Palestinian people suffering from occupation, famine, hunger, and settlements. This is a direct attack on the right of workers to fight and actively express their internationalist solidarity against the genocide being committed by the murderous state of Israel.
The New Democracy government willingly supports the murderous state in its slaughter of the Palestinian people in every way possible. It does not even dare to utter the word genocide, while facilitating, through military bases, exercises, and cooperation agreements, the imperialist plans of the US, NATO, and the EU in the region.
The attempt to silence and terrorize the workers will come to nothing!
We, the employees of Teleperformance, stand with the ENEDEP Union, the Piraeus Labor Center, and its president.
We demand:
• An immediate end to all persecution of the president of the ENEDEP union and the Piraeus Labor Center.
• The case to be closed, without conditions or preconditions.
• The reactionary legislative framework that criminalizes trade union activity and internationalist solidarity to be abolished.
Hands off the unions and workers!
Freedom for Palestine!
No participation, no involvement of Greece in imperialist wars!
