Colleagues,

The Teleperformance Workers’ Union – SETEP condemns the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Athens.

His visit is taking place at a time when armed conflicts are escalating and our country is becoming increasingly involved in the dangerous plans of the U.S., NATO and the EU.

We, the workers, have nothing to gain from the competition over the division of markets, energy resources and profits.

We have nothing to gain from the expansion of military bases, military missions, or the transformation of our country into a launching pad for war and a potential target for retaliation.

At the same time that billions are being directed towards military equipment and military spending, this money is being taken away from wages, healthcare and education. The rising cost of food, energy, fuel and heating oil is the bill for war that they send us every day.

We will not pay the bill for war!

As Teleperformance workers, we know very well what it means when profits are placed above people’s needs. Faced with intensification of work, pressure, insecurity and employer arbitrariness, we organize and fight collectively. We struggle for higher wages, collective agreements, humane working conditions and a life with dignity. In the same way, we stand against war plans and our country’s involvement in them.

SETEP calls on every worker to strengthen collective action and participate in the mobilizations against Rubio’s visit. Everyone on Tuesday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m., at Syntagma Square!

Let the workers’ voice be heard loud and clear:

Rubio is unwelcome!

Out with the bases of death!

No involvement in the wars of the U.S. – NATO – EU!

No participation of our country in military operations!

Money for wages, healthcare and education – not for wars and military equipment!

We strengthen our solidarity with the peoples suffering from war!

NO INVOLVEMENT OF GREECE IN WARS! Everyone on Tuesday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m., at Syntagma Square!
