Three years after the premeditated crime in Tempi, the dilemma was and remains the same:Either their profits or our lives.

57 young people lost their lives to the logic of capitalism, which sees our safety as a cost and constantly pushes us to “go wherever it takes us.

“We do not forgive those whose policies caused this crime, we do not accept that the causes that led to it remain here, as if nothing had happened. The criminal policy of profit that the current and all previous governments serve and that employers impose, a policy that continues to send workers to their deaths.

A typical example is the recent explosion at the Violanta factory, where the criminal negligence of the state and employers cost the lives of five women—mothers. Our lives and our daily routine are like an endless valley of Tempe. Just a few days ago, in the cauldrons of death in Perama, but also during the recent blackout at “El. Venizelos,” we were lucky not to have another similar crime, in the conversion of ports and transport routes into NATO paths that intensify military involvement and target workers for reprisals.

In 2025 alone, the working class counted 201 deaths from workplace crimes, which are labeled “accidents,” and hundreds of injuries that the government tries to “hide” with various tricks. Enough is enough! We have no trust in criminal policies and those who serve them, who gamble with our lives!

The constant pressure and intensification of work in pursuit of KPIs are wearing down our physical and mental health every day, causing chronic illnesses and burnout, with great risks for all of us.

True justice for Tempi, for those who have died in the workplace, for our children, will come through organized struggle to overturn the policies that breed new crimes every day.

Our experience from the battles we have fought in the ranks of the Teleperformance Union has taught us that in order to defend our own lives and those of our children, we need conflict, a collective, organized, assertive struggle directed against the real culprit, the criminal policy of profit and those who serve it.

Through our organized struggle, we have managed to put a stop to the company’s arbitrariness, demand better working conditions, obtain pay raises in some departments, and even get a ministerial decision on our immigrant colleagues revoked.

Through our organization in unions and associations, with a view to confronting big business and the state, the only promising path to meeting our contemporary needs can be opened.

We demand:

• Ιmmediate signing of collective agreements with substantial increases for all, regardless of language or field of support

• Permanent contracts for all. Stable work with rights, 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, 35 hours a week.

• Health and safety measures in the workplace; our lives are not a cost. Protection from dozens of musculoskeletal disorders; recognition of these as occupational diseases.

• Exclusively public mass transportation without any commercial activity involving staff recruitment, more and safer routes.

• Coverage of transportation costs to the workplace – Coverage of teleworking costs.

• Immediate measures against inflation.

• Money for wages, pensions, health, education, and not for NATO’s slaughterhouses. Greece’s disengagement from imperialist plans and wars.
