On October 30 at 17:30, our Union calls to a meeting that will take place at the Moschato site to appoint an electoral committee that will run the elections for the Health and Safety Committee (HSC) at Teleperformance throughout Greece.

WE, THE EMPLOYEES, GIVE OUR OWN RESPONSE

HSC are advisory bodies with legislative and trade union powers – coverage, monitoring compliance with measures, being informed by management about data on accidents at work and occupational diseases, the introduction of new projects, machinery, etc. In the event of immediate and serious danger, they call on the employer to take the necessary measures, without ruling out the suspension of work that endangers the health and safety of the employee. In implementing health and safety measures for our colleagues who work remotely, everything comes down to individual responsibility.

The employer must facilitate the work of the HSCs and provide them with a written assessment of occupational risks, which, according to the legal framework, is drawn up by the employer’s private health and safety consultants.

Every year, we workers count more and more dead and injured workers, and often accidents that occur are not even reported. It is characteristic that, according to official data, every three days a worker is killed in a “work accident,” as employers’ crimes have been dubbed.

OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY IS NOT A COST

— Investigation and improvement of working conditions in buildings, to address issues of lighting, ventilation, and acoustics in buildings.

— Musculoskeletal, psychological, and hearing problems are rampant, with no assessment of occupational risk.

— Full and effective coverage of all shifts and buildings with occupational physicians

— Provision of ergonomic equipment to all colleagues working from home

We call on workers to participate in the Health and Safety Committee elections en masse to support colleagues who will come forward to demand health and safety measures, the recognition of occupational diseases, and inclusion in the Heavy and Unhealthy and/or Dangerous Work categories in the respective specialties.
